A Traffic Order is a legal instrument used by highway authorities to regulate traffic and control road usage. It can take various forms, such as a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) or a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) {both are generally referred to as, TMO-Traffic Management Order}. Traffic Orders specify rules and regulations for roads and highways, including restrictions on parking, speed limits, one-way systems, pedestrian crossings, and other traffic management measures. They are typically implemented to improve road safety, manage traffic congestion, and enhance the efficiency of road networks. Traffic Orders are enforceable by law, and violations may result in penalties or fines. There are specific statutory requirements that constitute part of drafting or processing the Traffic Orders or Notices, consultation with relevant stakeholders and the public to ensure that proposed changes meet the needs of the community while adhering to legal requirements.

The course will introduce the legal principles of the Road Traffic Regulation Acts and key emphasis on compliant to the statutory processes and procedures. Delegates will learn how to use plans to draft traffic orders and notices. All the various types of temporary orders or notices will be considered  and practical examples will be undertaken to ensure delegates get accustomed to terminologies and styles peculiar to each Local Authorities.

The course will also help delegates to manage delivery time frame, with emphasis on working to meet deadline, quality assurance There will be interactive learning elements to the course to enhance learning.
